I’ve been thinking about……
The 38th Annual Daytime Emmy Awards!
I just received notification from the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences that I have been nominated this year for Outstanding Direction in an Animated Program, for my Voice Direction on the series Toot & Puddle for Nick Jr and National Geographic Kids. I am thrilled to be nominated with this show in particular because I just love these characters, and the world of different cultures and travel they open up to kids. I also feel very proud of my work on this series as we had to do a different accent in almost every episode, and there were 26, so it kept me on my toes brushing up on my dialect skills.
This is my second nomination in a Direction category, my first was for PBS’ “It’s a Big Big World” in 2007.
Fingers crossed that the second time’s the charm! But, as cliché as it sounds, it is also very true that is a great honour just to be nominated, and in such fine company.
Congratulations to my fellow nominees – my Canadian compadre, Terry Klassen (Martha Speaks), Ginny McSwain (Fanboy and Chum Chum), Susan Blu (Transformers), Lisa Shaffer (Penguins of Madagascar), and Chris Savino and Sherm Cohen (Disney Kick Buttowski).
The shows up for Outstanding Children’s Animated Program are: The Backyardigans, Curious George, Dinosaur Train, Sid the Science Kid, and The Penguins of Madagascar with the second of it’s 8! Nominations.
Should prove to be an interesting awards ceremony on June 17 in Los Angeles.
Good Luck to everyone!
